The Best Vegan Burgers in Berlin

Last updated: May 18, 2024

The vegan scene in Berlin continues to thrive — the plant-based dessert scene is particularly flourishing at the moment — so the vegan burger game is of course top notch too. Find more plant-based spots in Berlin here.

Vincent Vegan

Vincent Vegan is excellent! Home to creative and flavor-filled burgers, they’re a top notch burger spot that will convince even the most earnest meat-lovers that vegans are onto something. The Big Veganski is my go to order. It’s a compelling mix of flavors, textures, and ingredients. The classic vegan burger elements were up to par (crispy bun, melty cheese, fresh vegetables) and their choice of sauce and additional ingredients like their veggie bacon made the whole thing come together so well. Order it with a side of fries topped with peanut sauce!

Ryong

This vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant is the swankiest spot on this list, serving a mix of tapas, noodles, wraps, bento boxes, and of course burgers. All of their unique fusion burger creations are fully vegan. If you want a burger that strays from tradition, but still just manages to stay within core burger guidelines (bun and patty) then you’re in for a treat at Ryong. Each burger comes with a tofu or eggplant filling, your choice of peanut or soy marinade, a mix of sauces, herbs, and vegetables, and a colorful bao bun. They’re served with a side of edamame.

Try: Hulk Burger
Burger with edamame: €13.50 - €14.80

Goldie’s

Goldie’s smash burgers might have initially enticed a more meaty crowd, but they’ve since become very popular in Berlin’s plant-based community, earning the honor of Berlin’s best vegan smash burger. In fact, most people I know who have tried both meaty and vegan versions agree that the plant-based version is better. With melty vegan cheese, a scrumptious fried single or double patty, rich sauce, and fluffy buns they live up to their self-proclaimed title of Berlin’s best bad food in town. Give them a try!

Try: Double Cheeseburger or Super Smash Burger
Solo Burger: €6.50 - €11.50
Kurfürstendamm 229 | Charlottenburg
Grünberger Straße 52 | Friedrichshain
Graefestraße 93 | Kreuzberg

Vedang

With soft brioche buns and savory burger sauce, this plant-based burger* chain sets you up for a tasty meal. They carry a few types of patties including Beyond burger meat, smokey house patties, falafel quinoa patties, and crispy chicken burgers. I most like their cheesy Beyond smash burger, but it comes at a bit of a heftier price tag for the size. Enjoy your meal with a side of fries topped with a rich and flavorful cheesy sauce paired with jalapeños. Their plant-based take on döner wraps are also one of the best vegan versions I’ve tried in Berlin!

*Their P’Berg location now also serves beef patties, but the other three locations are fully plant-based still.

Try: Beyond Smash
Solo Burger: €7.80 - €10.80
Budapester Straße 38-50 (Bikini Berlin) | Charlottenburg
Leipziger Platz 12 (Mall of Berlin) | Mitte
Grunerstraße 20 (Alexa) | Mitte
Kastanienallee 3 | Prenzlauer Berg

Veg’d

With thick sesame buns and a few great patty choices, Veg’d is sure to scratch your burger itch. Although I like the burgers here, I think the price tag has gotten a bit hefty for the portion, so it’s not quite as much a go to spot for me anymore. Even so, the Beyond Chili Cheezeburger with a side of fries still hits!

Try: Chili Cheeze
Solo Burger: €9.90 - €12.50
Boxhagener Straße 21 | Friedrichshain
Eberswalder Straße 22 | Prenzlauer Berg
Richardstraße 108 | Neukölln
Skalitzer Straße 97 | Kreuzberg

Yoyo Foodworld

Yoyo Foodworld is a pretty well-known vegan junk food spot in Berlin. If you’re in the mood for a hearty and flavorful (albeit a little greasy) meal then head on over to Yoyo. You’ll find plenty of tasty options here including cauliflower cheeseburgers, soy chicken schnitzel burgers, and classic bacon cheeseburgers. All burgers come topped with lettuce, onion, tomatoes, and pickles. Add on a generous side of fries and complete your satiating drool-worthy meal. Yum!

Try: Bacon Cheeseburger
Solo Burger: €5.50 - €8.50
Gärtnerstraße 27 | Friedrichshain

Swing Kitchen | Real Vegan Burger

Swing Kitchen is home to a variety of pleasant plant-based burgers. I like their burgers, they’re on the lighter side, while still being filling. Their classic cheeseburger is a solid choice and will come with a few distinctive touches like lemon mayo and red cabbage. They’ve also got good dips! Their garlic aioli, basil lemon dip, and BBQ sauce will all pair well with your meal. Plus, they’ve got a free refill station where you can sample a number of vibrant house drinks including elderberry soda, peach iced tea, cherry soda, and raspberry soda. Free refills are hard to come by in Berlin so it’s an extra cool touch!
