Where to Find the Best Sangria in Barcelona
Last updated: June 23, 2023
The city of Barcelona hits the spot when it comes to sangria. From small unassuming stalls in the outskirts of the city center to bustling bars along the water, there’s plenty of great sangria to be found all around. My trip to Barcelona ended up becoming a bit of an accidental sangria tour, and I enjoyed every minute.
Here are some of the tastiest sangria places to try while you’re in Barcelona.
El Bosc de Les Fades
Not trying to get you to click off of the post immediately (because there’s more fantastic sangria to come), but if you can only go to one place for sangria in Barcelona, come to this cozy woodland and enchanted forest themed bar. A whole pitcher of delicious sweet and strong sangria goes for only €12! We were there in the late evening, and seemingly everyone had sangria pitchers, but it’s also open in the daytime if you’re interested in more tapas options (there were still hot empanadas all night), or want to see the decor more, since the interior lighting is quite dim.
Tosca Tapas y Vino
We were at Tosca the last ninety minutes or so that it was open on a Saturday night and it was very mellow and tranquil. I think most of their visitors come earlier in the day to get their tapas fix. The sangria I had here was strong and authentic, and was made in front of us by the bartender. There were a few types of sangria to choose from, including red, white, and cava.

BarCeloneta Sangria Bar
BarCeloneta is a vegan eatery that specializes in popular Spanish tapas made plant based.
They have a creative selection of sangrias, that are a little more pricey, but they offer a mix of rich and diverse flavor profiles. There are also a couple alcohol-free sangria options so everyone can try a glass. I recommend a glass of the Cleopatra which is mixed with gin, rose petals, and strawberries or the Denise which is a more classic take that mixes red wine with sherry, orange, and cinnamon.
I have not gotten to try the vegan food here, but the reviews are very positive, so hopefully on my next trip.
L’Alcoba Azul
The sangria here is very dark, and great if you prefer a spicy sangria to a sweeter one. I haven’t personally been here, but I regret not learning about this place sooner because I’ve had friends recommend it since I last visited Barcelona.
The restaurant also looks cute and earthy, and there are a nice mix of tapas and tostada options available.
Tapeo
Tapeo is a great tapas bar with some sangria options including a refreshing and well made Cava Sangria, which is a Catalan specialty that’s kind of like a cross between a mimosa and sangria. It’s a well balanced medley of flavors, and made with local white bubbly.
Casa Lolea
People come here for the sangria, and with good reason. The sangria here manages to be both sweet and authentic, with a few options to choose from like Lolea Brut which is infused with elderberry flowers and apples, or Lolea Rose which is made with grenache grapes and white wine. You can also take a bottle home, and if the name Lolea sounds familiar to you, it might be because Lolea is also a natural sangria company.

Can Cisa / Bar Brutal
Bonus! Although this bar doesn’t have sangria options (last I checked) I cannot finish this article without also recommending Bar Brutal. If you’re a fan of sangria you’re probably also a fan of wine, and this organic natural wine bar has some of the best wine I’ve ever tasted. I recommend trying one of their dessert wines and their insanely good porchetta sandwich.
