The Best Vegan Cake Shops in Berlin
Kaffee und Kuchen can taste even better plant-based. Indulge in Germany’s favorite Sunday pastime — this time with oat milk lattes and delicious egg and dairy-free desserts. From classic torte to innovative tofu-based slices, Berlin has plenty to offer in cake form.
Plants & Flours
This sweet vegan spot in Wedding’s African Quarter focuses on making delicious cakes with minimally processed ingredients. They offer just a few types of slices per day, typically of similar varieties (cheesecake, torte), but with rotating weekly fruit and flavor combinations. I found their blueberry cheesecake to be impressive (the texture is amazing), but the cherry, nougat, and poppyseed torte was an unexpectedly delightful combination of flavors that was hard to beat. Whatever flavor combo is in stock when you visit, it’s sure to be tasty. Keep in mind that they are only open afternoons Friday to Sunday.

Mansfield Park
Stop in for a dreamy and delicious slice at this fully vegan coffee and cake shop. Though options are sometimes a smidge more limited (they focus more on special occasion cakes), you’ll typically find a tasty layered cake, a fruity galette, and a couple of types of sweet loaves or cake squares in stock.

Soi & Co.
For gourmet, intricate, and plant-based cakes, Soi & Co. is your place. They have plenty of unique cake offerings, including a handful of gluten-free options. The delicious pastries they manage to make out of plain tofu are irresistible. Their cakes are presented beautifully ‘petit four’ style, combining tasty flavors like matcha with pistachio and raspberry ganache. Don’t skip out on their drinks either, their black sesame latte is particularly yummy.

Velicious
With freshly cut flowers on the tables and cheery service from the staff, this all-vegan quaint café is a sweet spot to get your Kaffee und Kuchen on. Might I suggest their peanut chocolate banana torte? It’s delicious! Most (if not all?) of their cakes are gluten-free too! They serve cakes that are a bit more similar to the kind that you’d find at a more traditional German bakery like apple strudel and marzipan torte. They were previously located in Friedrichshain and are now out in Friedenau, but I imagine they’ve retained the same charm.

Sakura
Sakura focuses on using mainly local and organic ingredients. They specialize in layered cakes, from decadent yuzu chocolate to chai vanilla. You’ll find a diverse mix of offerings here including cupcakes, tortes, mousse, and some French-inspired delicacies. I do think some of their items can be priced high for what you get (€6.50 for a small to mid-sized cupcake is more than I’d like to pay), but the staff is friendly and they’re nice to visit on occasion.

Café Neundrei
I have been sleeping on Café Neundrei’s vegan game. Although they’re the only spot on this list that’s not fully vegan, from what I saw, all their cakes are vegan (and clearly labeled so). They are on the pricier end, but they’ve got plenty of delicious savory goodies in stock, plus desserts including a variety of cakes — everything from pistachio chocolate cheesecake to strawberry passionfruit mousse. The pistachio crooke is worth a try if it’s available. Get there before 13:00 on weekends to still have a solid cake selection, but most of the pastries and cookies seem to be up for grabs most of the day.
